You will be able to study for each of these areas using the readings in combination with your notes and lecture slides. Be sure to study the key concepts and key terms within these areas as you prepare for the exam: Be familiar with the growth and changes in the field of media effects research, as we read and covered in lecture. By this, i mean the different time periods of the 20th century and how they correspond with ideas about how powerful media effects are. Be able to explain key characteristics of each of these eras and a couple of examples of the key research projects or theories that reflect these characteristics.
