Tools must be standardized and must have clear reliability and validity. Standardize: technique to set up common steps to be followed whenever a tool is administered, the way clinicians interpret results must be standardized as well. A good assessment tool will always yield the same results in the same situations. Interrater reliability: if different judges independently agree on how to score and interpret it. Test-retest reliability: test yields same results everytime it is given to the same people. Validity: must accurately measure what it is supposed to measure. Face validity: makes sense but not accurat.
