One thing i learned from reading these three articles, especially from the article johnstonbaugh (2018), is how much one"s ses and cultural background effects their performance and success at getting into schools. The term cultural capitol came up a lot in all the articles and i had never heard of this term before. I"ve come to learn that it means the combination of one"s social assets that promotes social mobility in stratified society. So, along with people"s ses their cultural capitol can definitely have a major effect on their confidence, and therefore ability to get into schools due to lack of skills from lack of observational learning (bourdieu 1973; bourdieu, After reading all three articles, i was able to relate most to the article by johnstonbaugh (2018) about cultural capital and overcoming it. Johnstonbaugh (2018) explained what cultural capital is; the combination of one"s social assets that promotes social mobility in stratified society.
