Social in uence important to understand the importance and in uence of people construal idea of the world: social psychology,science, and common sense. Philosophers try to understand human behaviour through theories, social psychologist test such philosophies about behaviour. Hypothesis then test the hypothesis: social psychology vs. sociology. Both look at social in uence in behaviour. Sociology look at society at large , and put less emphasis on the individual. Social psychology emphasized individual behaviour and focus on individual differences: social psychology vs. Explained human behaviour as part of a person character traits. Social psychologist explain behaviour in term of the power of the social situation. The power of the situation: behaviour often seen as an example of personality not the case, fundamental attribution theory tendency to brand behaviour as personality, not looking at situational factor. Leads to victim blaming: research has shown that individual behaviour is in uence by social environment, behaviourism school of thought.
