We look at what people do at work and how make their lives better. Very theoretical we seek to understand why things happen rather than how to solve every specific problem. Behaviour always change depending on the context. Attitudes and behaviour of individuals and groups within organizations. Important because what happens affects people inside & outside of orgs. Makes a difference for employees & orgs. What is personality: the relatively stable set of psychological characteristics that influences the way an individual interacts with his or her environment, his/her personal style of dealing with and responding to the world. The big five dimensions of personality: openness to experience (o, conscientiousness (c, extraversion (e, agreeableness (a, neuroticism (emotional stability) (n) Locus of control: definition: beliefs about whether one"s behaviour is controlled mainly by internal or external factors. Locus of control : a person"s belief about the location of factors that controls their behaviors.
