Enterprise application integration (eai): system tackles the silo problem by providing layers of software that connect info systems together. Eai is software that enables information silos to communicate with each other and to share data. It connects information silos via a new layer of software. It enables existing applications to communicate and share data. It leverages existing systems, leaving departmental information systems as is, but providing an integration layer over the top. It is cheaper than erp and provides the same benefits. Enterprise resource planning (erp): a suite software, a database, procedures and a set of processes for supporting business operations with a single, consistent, information system. Erp systems standardize processes and bring the data from a company"s processes into one place so that the data can go out to many places in real time. ( usually consolidates data about customers, products, people, equipment, machinery ) Material requirements planning (mrp): efficiently manage inventory, production and labor.
