Document Summary

Civil government is an institution of human prudence for guarding people, property and good name against invasion. For securing to the members of a community that liberty to which have all equal right. Civil laws are regulations agreed upon by the community for gaining these ends. Civil magistrates are officers appointed by the community for executing these laws. Obedience therefore to the laws and magistrates is necessary to the community. Without it, the community will fall into a state of anarchy that will destroy the rights and liberties which the government intended to protect. They thank god for the revolution that has happened and for the protestant dissenters to celebrate with joy. Security was given to their property and their conscience was emancipated. King james was not far from gaining his purpose and that he probably would have succeeded if he wasn"t in such a hurry to get it done.
