This study focuses on 155 coprolites from the prehistoric anasazi antelope house in. 1995 cluster analysis of the coprolites from antelope house: implications for anasazi diet and cuisine. Coprolites, cluster analysis, anasazi diet, arizona, protein residue analysis. The site was inhabited between 500 and 1250 ad. The authors ask questions pertaining to nutrition and diet, as well as ecology. The authors looked at three clusters of coprolites for their analysis, which includes; whole kernel maize, milled maize, and non-maize organics. The authors analyze these organic compounds in the coprolites, which are indicators of seasonal and preference based foods in the anasazi diet. The authors also analyse protein residue from the coprolites to show what else made up the anasazi diet. This study used 155 coprolites from the original 172 specimens to analyse the components of the anasazi diet; the main one being maize.
