Architecture is the art and science of designing and constructing buildings not only for practical purposes but also for symbolic and aesthetic ones. It has great potential for enhancing many aspects of our daily lives. Architecture can make important expressive statements that record a(cid:374)d (cid:272)o(cid:373)(cid:373)u(cid:374)i(cid:272)ate a so(cid:272)iety"s (cid:448)alue. No matter what sort of structure they are building, architects address and integrate three key issues: function how a building is used, form how it looks, structure how it stands. As an art, architecture both creates interior spaces and wraps them in an expressive shape. Architecture must be designed to withstand the forces of compression, or pushing; tension, or stretching; and bending, or curving and any combination of these physical forces.
