Document Summary

Example of a protein: hemoglobin, carbonic anhydrase---> found in red blood cells. Hemoglobin: carries oxygen from your lungs to cell throughout body. Carbonic anhydrase: allows carbon dioxide from cells back to lungs, so it can be exhaled. Protein"s have many functions some of which include Antibodies and complement proteins attack and destroy virus and bacteria. Motor proteins and contractile proteins are responsible for moving parts of the cell or the cell. Actin and myosin are used to flex or extend muscle cells in fingers and arms. Peptide hormones bind to receptor proteins on cell. Allow molecules to move across cell membrane and throughout the body. In this way water vapour circulated the system: nothing happened, until electric pulses were sent through the atmosphere. The water turned pink and after a while turned red. (aka prebiotic soup: this contained many carbon molecules including hcn (hydrogen cyanide) and h2co (formaldehyde), these lead to amino acids.
