Tendons are coninuous with the outer layer of connecive issue (epimysium: muscle surrounded by connecive issue layer. Connects to the tendon so when the muscle contracts it pulls on the tendon. Cells are called muscle ibres, due to their elongated shape, and are divided into bundles (fascicles) by addiional connecive issue (perimysium and endomysium) Can see these properies in meat pulled pork/shredded chicken. Fibres ightly connected into fascicles, but fascicles can be pulled apart ater its cooked. Each ibre is controlled by only 1 motor neuron: neuromuscular juncion. T tubules project inwards from the ibre surface. Sarcoplasmic reiculum is distributed throughout cytoplasma: just like endoplasmic reiculum, just a speciic type, store of calcium used to signal contracion. Mitochondria are situated in two locaions: subsarcolemmal next to sarcolemma (cell membrane of the muscle ibre, intermyoibrillar interspersed with myoibrils. What leads to striaion in the muscle due to the orderly arrangement of thick and thin ilaments in myoibrils.
