Systematically searching is high quality evidence based research. Random searching is the rst step to gathering information for the research. Search engine optimization (seo) refers to creating search strategies online to obtain documents. Sources of information: primary sources the actual documents as written by the researchers themselves. What we are look g for when conducting a library/document search: secondary sources a report on the ndings of the primary source. Disadvantage lies in author bias: tertiary sources reports on or summarizes the secondary sources report on the primary report. Be careful cause biases cane furthered from secondary sources. Three basic document types: books are in-depth analysis on particular subject, many present data, theory, analysis or all three. Earliest database is humro: additionally unpublished papers. White papers/position papers in business, conference papers in academia. Sources of data: organizational research measures attitudes and opinions held by management and employees, customers and shareholders.
