The canadian business environment has been impacted by notable scandals in other countries as well as its own. Ethics is not just for-proit business people as government employee have also been impacted by unethical behaviour. To restore the trust in the free-market system and leaders in general a number of measures must be taken. Firstly, new laws must be writen to make people accountable for their acions. However, creaing such laws may compel individuals to only act within the law. That being said, ethics and legality are two very diferent things. Ethics relects people"s proper relaions with one another while legality is much narrower. Ethics: standards of moral behaviour; that is, behaviour that is accepted by society as right versus wrong. In the past decade, there has been a rising ide of criicism in canada of various business pracices that many canadians consider unacceptable.
