ENGNMGT 4A03 Chapter Notes - Chapter 1: Aluminium Foil, Dotdash, Duct Tape
Document Summary
Hvac stands for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning--three closely related fundamental functions found in homes, offices, and other building structures. Hvac is to regulate room temperature, humidity, and air flow, ensuring that such elements remain within their acceptable ranges. Ducts are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (hvac) to deliver and remove air. Ducts provide different airflows such as supply air, return air, and exhaust air. Ducts also deliver, most commonly as part of the supply air, ventilation air. As such, air ducts are one method of ensuring acceptable indoor air quality as well as thermal comfort. Such ducts are made from sheet metal (galvanized or stainless steel, copper, aluminium, fibreglass), cut and shaped to the required geometry for the air distribution system. In the galvanizing process, iron or steel articles are dipped into a bath containing molten zinc just above its melting point.
