Lies at western edge of canada"s land mass (10%) and has 13% of its population. Province is divided into 2 parts: cordillera accounts for majority and interior plains occupies small portion. Lumber, pulp, natural gas and coal are the main 4 exports. Tilma; another sign of bc"s interest in promoting trade, in this case, with provinces in western. Since 2001, rate of economic and population growth has outperformed national figures yet there"s divide between urban-core and rural-hinterland. Cascadia; oregon, washington and bc is an expression of the regionalism. Famous for west coast climate in which there"s contrast between the wet bc coast and dry interior which is largely due to effect of the coast mountains on precipitation. It has moderate temperatures (mild winters), high rainfalls. Summers are warm but rarely as high as temperatures in the continental and dry climate of interior plain. Most of bc is in physiographic region of the cordillera- mountains, plateaus and valleys.
