Disposing of one"s possessions and persons: state of equality (wherein all the power and jurisdiction is reciprocal) a. i. No one having more than anyone else a. ii. That species are born to all the same advantages of nature. It is important to remember that this state of liberty does not equal a state of license: Though man in this state has liberty, he does not have the liberty to destroy himself or any creature in his possession. The state of nature teaches that nobody ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty or possessions. There cannot be any subordination among us that may authorize us to destroy one another.
