Atheists explained in one of three ways: being extremely ignorant and stupid, have never reasoned even the plainest and most obvious truths, being debauched and corrupted in their conduct. Acquired act of mocking religion: on strength of speculative reasoning, say the arguments against the attributes of god are stronger than the ones for god. These seem the only conceivable causes for any mans disbelieving the being or attributes of god. The first two reasons will not be addressed in this reading. Whatever argument they make leads them to this concession: there are five ways this may happen: If they argue that our notion of god arises from the cunning of politicans, that argument forces them to confess that in the interest of human society, it should be believed there is a god. If they suppose the world was made by chance and can be destroyed by chance again, that is not a comfortable or desirable way to live.
