Parkinson"s disease has to do with a lack of myelination resulting in slow action potential. It is impossible for us to figure out if what we are experiencing is real or not. The matrix problem: the brain constructs your world. Language stream segmentation problem: learning a new language is difficult since we do not know where the breaks are. However, with more exposure and practice it becomes easier: what goes on in the environment effects your understanding. The down processing and meets sensory processing. What is actually in the environment may not be what you experience: hebbian learning provides a mechanism for neural coding. Need to look at the fundamental level. Hebbian observed how a neuron fires in the presence of another neuron and observed the relationship over time. If neurons are repeatedly firing together they are going to be close with eachother. Leads to fantom limb: if someone loses a limb they still report feeling in that limb.
