Your roommate takes your umbrella and you discover you have to walk in the rain subjective feeling = mad physiological change = increased heart rate overt behaviour = ranting/yelling. Social smiles: when an infant smiles when they see another person: emerges 2-3 months, sometimes combined with cooing (early vocalization) and waving of arms or legs. Disgust: the emotion we know the least about; present in preschool children. Parents (cid:0) they tell their kids what"s disgusting or not. Adaptive b/c keeps them away from harmful stimuli eg. poo, vomit, blood. Have basic or complex emotions in response to a situation ie. ashamed they didn"t defend a classmate. Elementary children aren"t scared of dark anymore, instead fears related to school, health, harm.
