Adult comes from the verb that means that something has already happened, in the past. Adolescent indicated a process that is actively going on currently adolescents are moving toward adulthood. Teens are situated within a series of interlocking social contexts these include parents, peers, school, community, etc: each of these contexts may be affected by the others and by the relationships among others. Ecological systems the interacting structures both within the adolescent (cognitive, physical, emotional functions), and in the adolescent"s surroundings (family, peers, school, community) Stage-environment fit the ways developmental changes in an adolescent interrelate with changes in the adolescent"s social environment, such as parental rules and demands. Cultural diversity the variety of custom beliefs, expectations, and behaviours that are typical of adolescents from different cultural and ethnoculutral backgrounds. Globalization the tendency for economic, social, and political events and trends in one part of the world to have an impact on lives in other, distant parts of the world.
