Aristotle detailed 11 moral virtues and intellectual virtues --> belief that strength of character leads to enduring human excellence. Aristotle + plato emphasized influence political community (polis) has on development and maintenance of these virtues. Aristotle believed that government should be charged with development of virtue in a particular society via early education (in childhood) and training.
