Sociology: the systematic study of human behaviour in a social context. Social causes are distinct from physical and emotional causes. Understanding social causes can clarify otherwise inexplicable feature of famine, marriage etc. Analyzing suicide sociologically tests the claim that sociology takes a unique, surprising and enlightening perspective on social events. Suicide appears to be a supremely antisocial nonsocial act. It is condemned by nearly everyone in society. It is comparatively rare (in 2011, there were 10. 8 suicides for every 100,000 people in canada) Demonstrated that suicide is more than just an individual act of desperation resulting from psychological disorder- they were influenced by social forces. Examined his theory though the analysis of the association between rates of suicide and rates of psychological disorder for different groups. The idea that psychological disorder caused suicide is supported, only if suicide rates tend to be high when psychological disorder is high, and low where psychological disorders are low.
