Peripheral nervous system determines emoional state (peripheral responses communicate a quality of the emoion to the brain, which then interprets it) Each emoion has its own speciic patern of ans arousal, brain reads patern to interpret current emoional state. Event in environment (seeing a iger) triggers behavioural (muscle acivaion), autonomic (increased heart rate and blood pressure) and endocrine (release of stress hormones) responses. Feedback from response produces feeling of fear.
