Sexual developments starts while fetus growing in womb: erections have been noted in male fetuses, male infants may experience reflexive erections after birth o. Female infants" vaginal lubrication harder to detect but also been reported. Infants able to derive physical pleasure from tactile contact w/ caregivers and sucking. Able to derive physical pleasure from self-stimulation: common for infants to rub genitals against blanket or toy occur in as young. Around age of two or three young children often begin to masturbate as manual dexterity improves: naturally curious toddlers and preschoolers learn able to reduce tension and derive physical pleasure from manual self-stimulation. Sexual behaviours motivated by curiosity and exploration rather than sexual desire o: as young children do not get have the cognitive perception of sexuality as 2 mo. Infants seek love and physical contact from their caregivers: fulfilment of need can shape future development and expectations.
