Crown attorney are lawyers who represent the crown (government) in court and are responsible for prosecuting criminal cases. Activities includes: preparing for trial, preparing for post trial appeals, research case precedents, trial strategizing, remain up to date with law. At trial crown presents state"s case to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that accused is guilty. Historically their role was to present all necessary evidence to court to help them decide, not to convict. Information- document that briefly outlines an allegation that a person has broke the law. If jp believes there"s sufficient grounds for an arrest to be made he/she will issue a warrant. Arresting accused and placing them in remand custody until court date. It is a serious crime with a maximum sentence of more than 5 years. Police believe they will fail to appear in court. Their release will put the public in danger.
