Teacher preparation and quality darling-hammond (2000) examined the ways in which teacher qualifications are related to student achievement using data from several us-based sources, including a survey of policies in the 50 states, case study analyses. Findings indicated the quality of teachers as measured by whether the teachers were fully certified and earned a major in their teaching field was related to student performance.
