People with psychological disorders often experience personal and social problems as as result of their disorder; they can no longer function effectively in daily life. Ex. relationships damaged, can no longer maintain a job. There is financial concern associated with psychological disorders as well - the patient is in a financial crux, and because he/she doesn"t show up to work on occasion, the company and society as a whole is affected. Most people with a mental disorder do not receive treatment. When people do receive treatment, the gap between onset of the disorder and first treatment averages a decade. Three most common reasons why people don"t seek treatment: People don"t reali e they have a disorder that can be effectively treated. The individual doesn"t reali e that they need treatment. Less knowledge about disorders and available treatments means fewer seek help. There are barriers such as belief and circumstances that prevent treatment.
