Look at things prior to behaviour to anicipate it. Assessing traits: personality scales and self-raings, responses on projecive tests, physiological measures, behavioural assessment, reports/raings f/ other people, interview data. Mmpi test (t/f quesions, newer onehas 300ish quesions) -- also have a scale to see psychopathology, and honesty on test. Tat card, tell story about an ambiguous picture they see and ppl can see into what is happening in kids life, how they interpret the scene. Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic theories (stages not gonna be on exam) Theories of human personality on inner forces that interact to make us who we are, behaviour/human emoion develop in a dynamic (interacing with others/changing) way.
