The assigned readings discusses on the topic of obesity and eating disorders, examining the relationship between and the social effects of the two factors. In response to the question mentioned in two of the readings about whether or not obesity prevention programs cause eating disorder, i think it is difficult to judge. Just like studying any other human- related topics, it is complex to specify the relationship because their relationship can change according to different conditions. It is largely depended on one"s mental, psychological or biological condition (eating disorder hope, nd), almost unpredictable in some sense. On one hand, obesity prevention programs are beneficial to patients with eating disorder. These programs provided strategies for them to gradually reduce the illness symptoms. On the other hand, obesity prevention program can be a direct cause of eating disorder because of the negative perceptions that are often associated with the concept of obesity.
