Animals are the largest source of solid wastes. Most of this waste is solid and biodegradable except for the toxins and the heavy metals that may be concentrated and passed up the food chain. The potenial problem with polluion is the source of fuel named methane (ch4) that contributes to global warming and the depleion of the ozone: mineral extracion and processing: This produces tailings piles, spoils and slag heaps which are handled on site because it is too bulky and expensive to transport.
