Keratinocytes differentiate (move to more superficial stratum and become anuclear and eventually shedded) Melanocyte produce 2 types of melanin, eumelanin (darker skin and hair) and pheomelanin (lighter skin and hair) First part of the body to initiate immune response b) dermis.
