Apa format: the accepted american psychological association form for preparing reports describing psychological research. The major components of an apa-format paper are, in order: title page (includes author note, abstract, introduction, method section, results section, discussion section, references, footnotes, appendixes (if any, tables (if any, figures (if any) Level one heading: a centered section title in which the words are boldfaced and the first letters of major words are capitalized. Level two heading: headings that are left margin justified, bold-faced, have the first letter of each major word capitalized, and occupy a line by themselves. Level three heading: headings that are indented five spaces, are bolded, have only the first word capitalized, and end with a period. Do not insert any line breaks or extra spacing. Important features are the running head, page number, authors, affiliations, and author note.
