Microsociology focuses on the typical processes and patterns of face to face interaction in small groups. Binary thinking the use of either/or propositions. Difference between traditional and modern is the way people understood and thought about the world. Society the ways people organize their lives together. Enlightenment through the use of reason or rationality, human mind could discover true knowledge. Stage 1: world run by supernatural powers (gods) Stage 2: philosophy the world proceeded naturally like clockwork. Stage 3: people applied their scientific knowledge of the laws of nature to change the physical world to suit themselves giving them power over social change. Society stays the same over time and it is constantly changing.
