Anthropology: is the study of human kind in all places and in all times. Social sciences are concerned with the distinctive forms that human relationships can take. Humanities examine the great achievements of human culture. Anthropologists are interested in all of these aspects of humanity. Laura nader: anthropology has much to say about human destiny. Anthropology as a distinct field of inquiry is a relatively recent product of western society. This attitude has resulted in the west inundating other cultural groups with its without the means to travel observation of distant places was almost impossible. Another contributor to the slow growth of anthropology was failure of europeans to recognize that beneath all differences they share a basic humanity with people everywhere. European sense of superiority and cultural imperialism justified these actions of colonialism. Cultural imperialism: the promotion of ones nations values and beliefs and behavior above those of all others technology, religion, political organization, economy and lifestyle.
