Mobile switching center: when you place a call on a cell phone, a base station picks up the request for service; station passes request to this central location. Syncing/synchronizing: process of updating your data so that the files on your cell phone and computer are the same. Short message service (sms)/text messaging: technology that allows you to send short text messages over mobile networks.
