It is evident that health care costs are rising and more and more persons are looking overseas for medical treatment since it is cheaper even with airfare and quality of services tend to be better as well. Tourists generally anticipate a beneficial outcome such as achieving new health during ones holidays. First cases of better health were spas in europe and by the 19th century everything began to expand, sports became a part of the tourism. This was not the primary purpose but the medical treatment became incidental. This paper seeks to examine the elaboration of this phenomenon of medical tourism. For some, medical tourism has become the central theme in terms of touring creating a new niche in tourist industry. It has become an industry where people simultaneously go on vacation and get health care in a more conventional sense.
