Roles: confusion of roles begins along with boundaries, nuclear families" roles are complementary (i. e. husband, wife, children). There are social expectations with these roles: remarriage families "roles get confusing because there are too many candidates for each role (i. e. step father, stepmother, etc). Also, some positions are lost, for example the first child of the first relationship is no longer considered the eldest after another child born from a mother marriage. Relationships between stepbrothers and stepsisters: usually do not live together, causes problems as one may be given more importance to, however, stepsiblings may provide emotional support.
