I think that there is a better, or at least a more useful, way to describe how to diagram an argument than the account given in the textbook. Having said that, i think we can add a step to argument diagramming in order to make it a more fruitful activity. I would suggest trying to follow the following procedure: like premises, sub-premises, sub-conclusions, and main conclusions. 1. identify, separate, and write out all propositions in a passage viz. , all passage i. e. , rhetorical questions in order to capture the meaning of the claim. The fact that the phrase (cid:494)isn(cid:495)t it obvious(cid:495) is used lets us reword supporting each other, you can then make the simple completed diagram viz. , the each other.
