It affects the ways we use politics, the kinds of social problems we address, and the solutions we attempt. : political culture sets boundaries for political action, determines what is normal and acceptable and what is not. Political culture is dominated by liberalism, but it is accompanied by significant touches of conservatism and socialism. Canada has become more and more democratic over time. Democracy is defined in hundreds of ways, some of them contradictory, but in western world it usually includes the elements of popular sovereignty, political equality, political freedom, and majority rule.
