The power of the situation: social influence on behaviour. The reason people act is largely based on social factors not just individual choices. Bad things happen not only because of bad people but because of larger social factors that influence them to do bad things. You also have to take into account a person free will. Social psychologist tries to understand social reality by studying the interaction between. Interaction between the person and the situation the person and situation: kurt lewin said this as b=f (p,e); behaviour is a function of the person and the environment. Social psychology looks at the present and the forces at work at that moment. A way that our behaviour is influenced by the people around us. Social loafing- which occurs when an individual puts les effort into working on a task with others. Low efficacy beliefs- task is too difficult so people don"t know where to start.
