Leads to frustraion, anxiety, less energeic, withdrawn, cogniive issues. Children become capable of using mental operaions. Reversibility: 5 3 = 2 to conirm that quanity has not changed. Decentraion: focus on 2 dimensions cogniive ability to take more than one aspect of a problem into account, such as width + length. Seriaion = order, based on property traits (logical order) such as shortest to longest, thinnest to thickest, or lightest to darkest. Transiivity (transiive interference) the mental ability to place objects in a logical order. Rehearsal: repeaing the same info over + over. Elaboraion: transforming bits of info in a way that connects them + hence makes them easier to remember. Get older, think of self from external to internal, physical to psychological up unil 7 or 8, most children describe themselves in terms of external, concrete physical characterisics (hair colour, aciviies) During middle childhood they expand to personal, internal traits like friendly to their self-descripions.
