Sir francis galton attempted to measure intelligence in modern era. Thought sensory abilities would be an indicator to intelligence. Created 17 tests with highest and lowest sounds, slightly different weighted objects. Anthropometrics lab- the measurement of people referring to methods of measuring physical and mental variation in humans. French psychologist alfred binet argued intelligence should be measured by complex thinking processes: memory, attention, and comprehension. The test score would measure the mental age. The most common testing used in adolescents and adults today. Uses both general ability and cognitive proficiency to determine results. Used across north america and criticized by a number of researchers. The test questions usually require knowledge of the test developers culture and language. In 1930s john raven came up with ra(cid:448)e(cid:374)"s progressive matrices based on pictures and not words, making it relatively unaffected by language and culture.
