Chapter 4 personality, cultural values, and ability. Personality refers to the structures and propensities inside people that explain their characteristics patterns of through, emotion and behavior. Traits are defined as recurring regularities or trends in people"s responses to their environment. Cultural values defined as shared beliefs about desirable end states or modes of conduct in a given culture. Ability refers to the relatively stable capabilities people have to perform a particular range of different but related activities. There are five broad factors or dimensions that can be used to summarize our personalities the big five (canoe: conscientious being dependable, organized, reliable, ambitious, hard-working, and persevering. Prioritize accomplishment striving, which reflects a strong desire to accomplish task related goals as a means of expressing personality. Set higher and more ambitious goals for themselves and find themselves quickly becoming invaluable to a company: agreeableness kind, cooperative, sympathetic, helpful, courteous, and warm.
