Coral bleaching: coral is one of most productive and species rich in the world, besides overfishing and pollution, threatened by: 1)co2 + h2o h2co3(carbonic acid) which then drops a proton to form bicarbonate (hco3-) More co2 = more protons = lower ph. 2) increases in temperature cause reef building corals to expel their photosynthetic algae. When this coral bleaching continues = coral dies of starvation.
