Doctors send them to lubbock (100 miles away) then 220 miles to alberquerque seizures continued, diagnoses multiplied, they ended up going to 4 diff hospitals, then wrote to mayo. Mayo tested for lots of things all negative. In sept 2012, they opened the centre for individualized medicine used genomics to identify diseases (disease odyssey program javrie was in) Sequenced patients exomes, and use resulting data to comb for clues. After years w/o diagnosis, some 37% get one after about 3 mos in this program, but javrie took longer. Took years for 369 data scientists to invent the tech to name him as one of 10 children in the world with a disease/mutation so rare it has no name.
