Perceptive theories of ethics include the judgement of an act as right or wrong as well as recommending or forbidding types of conduct. Descriptive theories of ethics include the non-judgemental empirical study of ethics in particular societies. Absolutism is the view that there exists a universally correct moral position. Relativism is the view that moral values are relative to particular environments. Cultural revitalism is the view that behaviours and values are relative to particular cultures and the accepted norms of the society they take place in.
