Has melanin pigment to absorb light rays + stop the reflection within the eyeball: ciliary body: anterior continuation of the choroid, intrinsic eye muscle. Changes the convexity/ curvature of the lens. Has suspensory ligaments that extend from the ciliary body to the lens, like tendons. Made up of smooth muscles/ ciliary muscle: contracting/ relaxing the muscle changes the lens convexity (help focus far + near) Iris: makes up the anterior 1/6th, intrinsic eye muscle. Vertical extension that is between the lens + cornea. Central opening is the pupil: circularly + radially in fashion, the contraction of the smooth muscles can control the amount of light that comes in. Parasympathetic activates circular/sphincter muscle to constrict pupil. Sympathetic activates radia/dilator muscle to dilate pupil. Has melanin pigments that determine eye colour: nervous layer: 2 parts, retina: posterior th of nervous layer. Optic nerve leaves the retina leaving a blind stop/ optic disc (lacks photoreceptors)
