Document Summary

Social psychology the study of the causes and consequences of sociality. Social behaviour how people interact with each other. Social influence how people change each other. Social cognition how people think about each other: social behaviour: interacting with people. Ultra social to form societies in which large numbers of individuals divide labour and cooperate for mutual benefit. To survive, animals must find resources food, water, and shelter. Animals often solve this problem by hurting or helping each other. Aggression behaviour with the purpose of harming another. A way of getting the resources they need. Frustration-aggression hypothesis animals aggress when their desires are frustrated. Many scientists think this hypothesis does not go far enough. Scientists argue that the cause of aggressive behaviour is negative affect (feeling bad) and that a frustrated desire is just one of many things that might induce negative affect. Not every kind of negative affect gives rise to aggression.
