Not really addressing the problem at all, it more of just a band aid: something to think about , what causes crime, poor upbringing, underlying mental disorder, necessity, rebellion, gangs, attention, lack of education, how can we control criminal behavior, social programs, better education systems that are more available, getting to the roots of the problems, rehabilitation within prison. Is the system too soft on criminals: people are getting off easy with certain crimes such as sexual assault, parole allows people to released early, harsher penalties will deter more crime, what should be the functions of corrections, rehabilitation, education, therapy, counseling, should there be mandatory sentences for convicted criminals, race could no longer come into play, what about the different factors in the cases, except prior record, penalized more harshly, avoid extralegal factors they don"t want a persons sexual orientation or race to come into.
