Amphetamine effects mood & arousal; improve task performance reduced by fatigue/boredom. Amphetamine can stimulate respiration & suppress appetite + perception of pain. Excessive stimulation can cause dysrhythmias; bv constriction promoted = causing hypertension: tolerance, physical dependence and abuse: Tolerance: develops to elevation of mood, suppression of appetite, & heart + bv stimulation.
